The VertexOps Lab Stack
The Infrastructure
Resilience starts at the hardware layer. My home lab environment serves as a staging ground for testing "local-first" solutions and hardened virtualization stacks.
Compute & Virtualization
- Primary Node: Dell T3610 Workstation.
- Hypervisors: Proxmox VE and VMware ESXi for infrastructure testing and isolation.
- Operating Systems: Heavy emphasis on Ubuntu Server for local service hosting.
Local AI & Sovereignty
I prioritize self-hosted Large Language Models (LLMs) to ensure privacy and data control. My current stack includes:
- Ollama & LiteLLM: For model orchestration and API management.
- Open WebUI: Providing a secure, local interface for internal tooling.
- Models: Active testing with Gemma and Qwen for high-performance, private workflows.
Network & Security
Maintaining a secure perimeter is a continuous process. I utilize RoboShadow for vulnerability management and maintain a strict migration path toward sovereign data hosting via Nextcloud.
